It was called Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mosque and was inaugurated by His Excellency Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Vice President of the Khalifa Foundation For humanitarian work.The mosque, which was built in the town of Al-Eizariya, east of Jerusalem, accommodates about six thousand worshipers and is built in the latest style and equipped with all the necessary facilities for the worshipers to perform their religious rites with ease and ease.In his speech at the inauguration of this great project, Al-Zaabi stressed that Palestine, its people and its cause are in the heart and in the consciousness of the Emirati leadership, government and people, and that the city of Jerusalem occupies a large area of ​​concern for the United Arab Emirates, as it has never hesitated to support the people of Palestine and provide all forms of support to it.He said that the Khalifa Foundation has financed this great religious edifice, as it is a witness to the great Emirati giving and a prominent Emirati teacher of great importance in affirming that the UAE stands with the Palestinian people and supports their economy.Palestinian officials, led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, praised this Emirati achievement, describing it as a witness to the UAE’s continued aid to Palestine and its people.The Palestinian Minister of Endowments said that this mosque is part of many projects that the UAE has implemented in the Palestinian territories ... and it is nothing but confirmation that the Emirati tender continues towards needy peoples, especially in Palestine, and that the construction of this mosque confirms that Jerusalem is always in the consciousness and interest of the UAE.The roofs of the mosque are topped by nine domes and two minarets, each of which is 75 meters long. The stones of its mihrab radiate a natural light. It also includes a library containing thousands of mothers of fiqh and biography books, in addition to a center for memorizing the Holy Qur’an.In other aid to Palestine, during the Ramadan season, thousands of Ramadan meals, thousands of food parcels and thousands of clothing are prepared annually for thousands of fasting Palestinians in the Palestinian territories and in Jerusalem in particular.During the past year, the Foundation distributed 50,000 school bags to needy students in the Palestinian territories, with the aim of providing aid to students, especially in these conditions that the Palestinian people live in.The Foundation also carried out an Emirati aid campaign for the wounded and martyrs of Palestinians during the events in Gaza. The number of beneficiaries from it exceeded 9,000 individuals, and school fees were paid for a number of students, which exceeded eight thousand cases, and financial assistance was provided to the families of the prisoners for 470 cases, thousands of food parcels and Ramadan breakfasts included all the governorates of the Gaza Strip and a number of important groups such as the disabled, for example, in addition to holding a festival for a collective wedding that included 400 young men and women were considered the largest at the time in terms of equipment, number and financial value given to grooms. The committee also provided financial assistance to 2,625 cases for those affected by the depression in the so-called Alexa Depression, which was divided in a timely manner into categories according to the size of the damage.
