In March 2013, the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works distributed in-kind assistance to orphans at the Tehiyah Orphan Center in Kabul as part of its charitable program and humanitarian mission to extend a helping hand to the needy and poor in Afghanistan. The Foundation also, in coordination with the country's embassy in Afghanistan, dispatched 4 trucks of aid to Helmand Province in the Sanqin District.Aid, which includes clothes, blankets, integrated school bags and sewing machines, was distributed to the needy in the district, under the supervision of the Permanent Committee for Humanitarian and Development Assistance in Afghanistan, to families and school students, to benefit 1,500 families. In Kabul, in Si Rahi and Badam Yag district, the Foundation distributed winter needs and supplies to 450 Afghan families.
