The Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation supervised the implementation of the outpatient building within the new expansion of the King Hussein Cancer Center, with funding from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development worth 92 million dirhams, which was inaugurated by King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the presence of his wife, Queen Rania Al Abdullah.This large medical edifice - for which His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him” was named - will be able to receive more than 250,000 patients annually, which will contribute to enhancing its ability to receive sick cases from Jordan and neighboring countries and provide Better cancer care in the region.King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, during a ceremony held on this occasion, honored His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and President of the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work, in appreciation of His Highness's efforts in the fields of humanitarian work, and our appreciation for the foundation's support in the process of establishing the center And developing it to carry out its lofty duties in the service of patients in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.The shield of honor was received on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan .. His Excellency Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Vice President of the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work.On this occasion, His Excellency praised the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries in all fields.The building - which was named after His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him - consists of ten floors accommodating 250 thousand visits annually, and includes the Khalid Shoman Education Center, a specialized integrated medical center for women and a comprehensive one for children, a cell therapy center and an applied genome laboratory. Which will bring about a quantum leap in cancer research that the center is carrying out, as well as the first general cord blood bank and multi-specialty patient clinics.The new expansion will enable the center to perform 300 bone marrow transplants annually, making it one of the largest bone marrow transplant centers in the region.The new expansion will increase the number of annual cases received by the center to 14,000 annually, in addition to dealing with 7,000 new cases annually.The expansion also contributed to increasing the number of operating rooms to 13 rooms equipped with all modern technologies, including specialized rooms for performing specialized, accurate and complex brain operations ... while the number of specialized intensive care units increased to 36 units.
