The Emirati Families Initiative is one of the most important initiatives that the Foundation carries out continuously throughout the year by ensuring the participation of Emirati families in all events and occasions in order to display what they produce and work to find outlets for their products.The “Citizen Families” initiative registered its largest spread during the year 2019, as it became the focus of attention and request of ministries and national institutions to participate and be present in the national events they organize in addition to the agenda of fixed events such as the Sheikh Zayed Festival and the Global Village in Dubai, where more than 100 participation were recorded at the end of 2019 A citizen family in the activities of many institutions such as: Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, Monitoring and Control Center, Ministry of Interior, Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi Ports, Emirates College of Technology, Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Sheikh Zayed Academy for Girls and Boys, and Saadiyat School.The pavilion of the Khalifa Foundation in the Global Village in Dubai, in its ninth edition, represents a renewal in all its aesthetic and organizational elements, and looks attractive to visitors to the global village, due to the diversity of its wings and the uniqueness of its contents, which include 59 stores that serve 73 Emirati families .In February 2019, the Foundation organized a training course for Emirati families participating in the Foundation’s pavilion in the Global Village in Dubai, entitled “Customer Happiness”, with the aim of developing their skills in receiving visitors and customers, and enhancing their ability to deal professionally and meet the needs of those dealing with them.And in February 2019, 30 citizen families participated in the 7th Shooting Support Units Festival. In July 2019, the Foundation participated in the International Day of Inmates exhibition, which falls on July 18 of each year, as it provided an opportunity for visitors to purchase products from the creativity of Emirati families and businesswomen participating in the exhibition.The exhibition witnessed the participation of 25 Emirati families who were registered with the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works as part of the "national families" initiative, who gathered to present and display their best handicrafts, heritage and distinctive popular dishes.“Citizen families” participated during the month of November in the National Festival for Handicrafts and Handicrafts in Al Qattara Market in Al Ain. The importance of traditional crafts and industries in the Emirati heritage was highlighted and the efforts made by practitioners of these crafts in order to preserve, revive and teach them for future generations as a basic component of identity. Patriotism.During the year 2019, the “Citizen Families” initiative moved to new heights, not only by participating in events. Rather, some Emirati families registered with the Foundation are organizing workshops for trainees in many areas in traditional crafts such as: Khous, Sadu, Tali, Henna, Incense, Burqa and Cooking.
