An Emirati relief ship was sent on the first stage to the port of Kismayo in the Somali state of Jubaland, carrying 824 tons of basic foodstuffs that were distributed to the Somali people in the state of Jopaland, Kismayo and its affiliated areas.In the second phase, the Foundation distributed urgent relief aid to Somali families in the villages and regions of Puntland State, northeastern Somalia.The second phase of humanitarian relief targeted 20 thousand Somali families - about 100 thousand people - in all areas of the state of Puntland, where large quantities of food parcels were distributed to Allayo, Go, Kayin and Lak regions.The source explained that this aid is part of 20 thousand food baskets containing basic foodstuffs, which will be distributed to the rest of the regions, which are Bari, Karkar, Nokal, Seoul, Sanak, Kayn, Highland, Cardavo and Modoc.The beneficiaries of the aid praised the UAE’s internationally recognized humanitarian stances, stressing that the people of Somalia will not forget that the UAE is the first country to respond to the call to provide urgent aid to it, provide its basic needs and alleviate the burden of drought.
