Universities by activating the in-kind aid project provided by the Foundation at the beginning of each academic year, through which it supports about two thousand students.In this context, the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education, according to which it could manage 50% of the public school canteens for the 2014-2015 academic year, with a total of 247 schools.The Foundation considered that this stage comes as a continuation of its first phase in which it ran the canteens of 33 government schools in the past academic year, provided that many and varied types of the finest foods and foods are provided to students in accordance with the requirements approved by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. The school is owned by 100% citizenship, in return for monthly bonuses.The Foundation has undertaken the process of selecting families who need support to take over the process of supervising school canteens, and the Emirates Cooperative Society has determined the supply of food to the canteens, provided that the supplies are carried out in accordance with the requirements to maintain the health of students, in addition to providing foods that contain calories authorized by the Ministry of Health and following the requirements In transporting food.The school canteens in Abu Dhabi government schools, starting from the second semester of the current academic year, are implementing the "healthy canteens in public schools" project supervised by the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work, while the project will be implemented in the next academic year 2015-2016 in the government schools of the Sharjah Education Council.Students receive healthy meals at reduced prices in school canteens through the support of suppliers, and their implementation began in the first stage in kindergartens and schools of the first cycle, and will be extended later to include male schools for the second and third cycle in the next academic year 2015/2016.On the other hand, the Khalifa Foundation intends to include dates in the morning breakfast meals to students and sell them to them at subsidized prices from the next academic year 2015-2016.
