The Khalifa Foundation worked during 2010 to strengthen the strategic partnerships that it had established with international humanitarian organizations, with emphasis on the importance of building bridges of cooperation with humanitarian organizations and institutions in various parts of the world and coordination with those institutions in order to expand the umbrella of the Foundation's work to include various Areas in need around the world.The Khalifa Foundation has launched a humanitarian initiative on the local scene to support education in the country through the “In-kind aid project for students for the academic year 2010-2011,” where the number of those who were provided with in-kind assistance during the past three years reached about 60,000 students. In the academic year 2010-2011, the initiative included more than 22,000 insolvent students in more than 650 schools nationwide, with the aim of improving their material conditions and creating an atmosphere to double their effort and increase their educational attainment.This humanitarian project on the local scene comes as a commitment from the Foundation to help students overcome some of the material obstacles that often prevent some from pursuing educational achievement, especially in light of the stressful economic and social conditions that are increasingly difficult year after year.The students who were included in the award expressed their gratitude and thanks to the Foundation, stressing that this humanitarian gesture expresses the most sincere expression of feelings towards students and its eagerness to obtain what they deserve from education in an atmosphere of familiarity among all students.The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has contributed to supporting the humanitarian initiative launched by the Khalifa Foundation, which aims to support education in the country, in addition to its contribution to covering the expenses of students registered in the university scholarship program outside the country, as this initiative seeks to improve the material conditions of needy students and empower them. By doubling their effort and increasing their educational attainment.In this context, the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works held six celebrations nationwide to honor one thousand and 59 coordinators who worked hard and sincerely for the success of the largest humanitarian project in the education sector. Society and the consecration of the concept that “volunteer work is a noble humanitarian practice that is closely linked to all meanings of good and righteous deeds, and is linked to giving, giving and helping free of charge.” This behavior increases in times of adversity and includes many developmental and social activities.
