In 2011, the Khalifa Foundation donated a $ 150 million grant, the highest in its history, to the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas in Houston, with the aim of supporting cancer research and treatment methods. This grant allowed for significant advances in personal cancer care at the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Personal Care Building for Cancer, which includes the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute for Diagnostic Cancer Diseases as well as the Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Center for the Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer.
