The Khalifa Foundation sponsored a group wedding, which was held in the city of Rafah in the Palestinian Gaza Strip, and included 436 brides and grooms.The big celebration that was held on the occasion of the wedding was attended by Ismail Haniyeh, the Palestinian Prime Minister in the dismissed government, a number of Palestinian officials, and all representatives of the Palestinian factions and organizations in the Gaza Strip.A number of Palestinian officials delivered speeches at the ceremony in which they praised the steadfast supportive stance of the United Arab Emirates alongside the Palestinian people under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and indicated the continuous support Palestinians receive from Emirati charitable and humanitarian institutions. Foremost among them is the Khalifa Foundation, which sponsored this wedding, which included 436 brides and grooms.The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Noble Qur’an, then the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates and the Palestinian national peace were played, followed by songs and songs sung by Palestinian artistic groups dedicated to the United Arab Emirates, its leadership and its people.The hymns and songs were interspersed with a dabke of the Gulf heritage, as well as links from popular Palestinian dabkas, national anthems and wedding carols, and then many words, including a speech by the Palestinian factions, delivered by Ahmed Youssef, the former political advisor to the prime minister in Gaza. The ceremony witnessed a wide participation of the Palestinian masses and the families of the grooms, who carried their children on the shoulders of their joy and happiness.In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Youssef extended his thanks and gratitude to the UAE and the Khalifa Foundation for its generous support and sponsorship of this great project that enhances the steadfastness and unity of the Palestinian people. He also congratulated the young men and women on the occasion of their wedding, wishing them a happy married life. Noting that there will be upcoming projects soon, Palestinian MPs also expressed their thanks to the UAE, its president, and the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work, which they said did not skimp on the Palestinian people with its continuous donation. They indicated that there is a second step and a new collective marriage project to help a thousand Palestinian brides in the coming days, and it will be announced soon, as a Moroccan philanthropist will cover the expenses of one hundred of them.
