In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to help the brotherly people of Yemen, and within the framework of strengthening the Emirati-Yemeni bilateral relations and the joint cooperation and interest and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Khalifa Foundation Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for Humanitarian Works funded the construction of a central hospital in the capital of the Yemeni island of Socotra "Hadibo" and the construction of a number of "caravans" water collection basins, in cooperation with the state embassy in Sana'a.According to the construction plan, the hospital will be exemplary and will be built with international specifications and provide it with all medical equipment to enable it to provide medical services to all the people of the Socotra Archipelago, in a way that contributes to creating a qualitative leap in the level of health service in Yemen, and it will include multi-tasking and purpose rooms, a major operating room, a gynecology clinic and an incubator. For newborns in addition to the administration and laboratories, and it will be equipped with the latest medical devices and equipment.For their part, Yemeni officials praised the important role the UAE plays in the charitable and humanitarian field in Yemen, noting that this hospital will work to alleviate the suffering of patients on Socotra Island, which suffers from difficult health conditions and lacks hospitals and health centers.The Governor of Hadramawt Governorate, Khaled Al-Dini, expressed his great appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for its national and humanitarian stances witnessed not only towards Yemen, but towards all the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nation, praising the efforts made by the Emirati charitable institutions, especially the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work.He said that rebuilding the hospital will contribute greatly to providing advanced and modern health and medical services to a wide group of patients on the island of Socotra, and that the establishment of a number of "caravans" will contribute to providing water for thousands of citizens, noting the aid provided by the UAE under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa. Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God preserve him, is a good successor to the best predecessor, and here we see that the white hands of His Highness have not been cut off from Yemen and its people in the darkest circumstances, which confirms the solidity and strength of the relations between our two countries and our brotherly peoples and the extent of love and affection for the government and people of the Emirates for Yemen and its people .For his part, the Director General of the Socotra Archipelago, the head of the local authority, Saad Ali Salmeen, thanked the government and people of the United Arab Emirates and the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work for its generous initiative to rebuild the only hospital in the capital, Hadibo, and to provide it with all the required medical equipment, as well as to guarantee the establishment of a large number of Water collection "caravans".He said that the UAE's support for the archipelago is not born today, but rather over the decades, which has been inculcated in the hearts of the archipelago in all fields.The Director General of Hadibo stressed that the support and generosity of the UAE at the level of leadership and the people is tangible and clear in the hearts of the Yemenis and in the souls of the people of Socotra, and that they stand before him with reverence, unable to return the favor, but they ask God to return this generosity to them and record it in the balance of their good deeds.For his part, the Director of the Socotra Island Health Office, Dr. Saad Ahmed Al-Qaddumi, stated that the residents of Socotra Island have suffered for long periods of lack of health services and the lack of a central hospital equipped, indicating that the hospital that the UAE has undertaken to build and equip will contribute significantly to alleviating that suffering and will solve the biggest problem. Healthier in the archipelago, where the hospital will be able to perform the required surgeries.
