Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner (MRI)

MRI is a device that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within the body for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. It consists of a large tube with a table in the middle, where the patient lies down. A powerful magnet surrounds the tube and generates a magnetic field that temporarily aligns the water molecules in the body. Radio waves are then sent and received by a coil, which creates signals that are processed by a computer to form images of the body.
