A team from the Foundation has restored the Zahra Secondary School for Girls in the Socotra Archipelago, which was severely damaged by Hurricanes Tashabla and Meg, which struck the island.An official source in the foundation said that a new generator was purchased for the school, after the foundation's team conducted a field survey to limit the damage that the island suffered as a result of the two hurricanes.He pointed out that the "Zahraa High School" is the largest in Socotra, with more than one thousand and 200 students studying in the morning and evening shifts.The source stated that the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works continues to account for the damage caused to the island, and its team, present there, will restore a number of infrastructures and follow up on the completion of Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in Socotra.He added that the Foundation established an air bridge through which 16 cargo planes and four cargo ships carried about 12 thousand tons of food and relief materials from tents and covers for the affected residents of the island.For his part, Salem Dahik Ali, Director General of Hadibo Directorate, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the humanitarian services provided by the UAE to Socotra and the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work, whose team is on the island to assess the damage and work to provide it with all assistance.For its part, the school administration and its teaching staff thanked the UAE for the assistance it provided to the island in all areas of life, especially the repair of educational buildings, which indicates the originality of the wise leadership of the UAE and its love for humanitarian work anywhere in the world, especially for their Yemeni brothers who are going through difficult circumstances.
