In late November, the latest operating room for highly complex surgeries was inaugurated at the Demerdash University Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Cairo, with the support of the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work.The opening ceremony was attended by Muhammad Haji Al-Khoury, Director General of the Foundation, and Counselor Ahmed Hatem Al-Minhali, on behalf of His Excellency Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, the country's ambassador in Cairo and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Dr. Mohamed Hassan, Director General of the hospital, and Nagwa Ali Metwally, member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. Responsible for the Committee for the Development of General Hospitals for the treatment of those unable.For his part, Dr. Mohamed Hassan, Director General of Al Demerdash Hospital, expressed the appreciation and gratitude of the hospital’s medical team for the continuous support of the Khalifa Foundation, praising its continuous humanitarian efforts to provide the hospital with the medical devices and equipment it needs in the next phase.He explained that the Foundation's support for the hospital contributed to the opening of the largest integrated operating room equipped at the highest technical level, the development of operating rooms, the upgrading of their capabilities, and the provision of advanced equipment, indicating that the hospital performs about 10 to 15 surgeries per day, at a rate of 3 thousand operations per month. This provides opportunities for treatment at the best medical level to about 36,000 cases of illness annually, most of them unable to.In turn, Najwa Ali Metwally expressed her happiness with this achievement, which was an urgent need, and said that the response of the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Work and its cooperation, to provide the necessary capabilities for the hospital, was distinguished, praising the keenness of the officials in the institution and their interest in training doctors and medical personnel assisting with modern devices This makes El Demerdash Hospital one of the largest hospitals that receive highly complex and difficult cases from all over Egypt, pointing out that the development of the operating suite enables the patient to obtain proper and appropriate treatment.She emphasized that the support provided by the Foundation has effectively contributed to equipping and preparing the largest operating room with the latest techniques of surgery, anesthesia, warming blood and sterilization, in addition to the renewal of the entire operating rooms, which were suffering from wear and tear of their devices, which allows better care for patients and critical cases, and helps the new generation of Doctors deal with modern devices, and apply the best and latest methods of surgery.
